Happy Women's History Month!

As we celebrate this special month, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible contributions of Black women throughout history. From activists and educators to artists and entrepreneurs, we have always been at the forefront of change and progress.

In the spirit of Women's History Month, I want to talk about something that is crucial to our growth and success as Black women: our friendships.

As we navigate the complexities of life, our friendships can provide us with the love, support, and guidance we need to thrive.

But let's be real, building and maintaining strong friendships can be hard. We are all busy, and it can be challenging to find the time and energy to invest in our relationships. That's why I want to share some tips on how to build sustainable friendships that will stand the test of time.

TIPS

  • It's important to be intentional about your friendships. Take the time to assess what you want and need from your relationships, and communicate that to your friends. Don't be afraid to set boundaries and prioritize your own well-being.

  • Make an effort to show up for your friends. Whether it's by checking in regularly, supporting their dreams and goals, or simply making time for them, your friends will appreciate your presence and support.

  • Be open to new friendships and experiences. As we grow and evolve, our friendships may change, and that's okay. Embrace the new connections and opportunities that come your way, and never stop learning and growing.

I hope these tips will inspire you to invest in your friendships and build meaningful connections with other Black women. Remember, we are stronger together.

If you have any tips or experiences you'd like to share about building sustainable friendships, please feel free to drop a comment below. We'd love to hear from you!

Nichelle here, I want to start the discussion off...

I went live on tiktok yesterday & this very topic came up. Female friendships have been extremely difficult for me to navigate. Discerning between people who truly appreciate me for who I am vs those that secretly wished me harm... it’s really hard to tell these days. I’ve always wanted to be the girl with the childhood best friend that knows each other through & through, does everything together & share a deep bond, almost like sisters. I experienced something similar to this & it ended in such a nightmare of a situation that it has scarred my perception of friendships😩.
